Design Tips For Button Badges

OPTION 1: TO DESIGN YOUR OWN BADGES CLICK HERE
This is the most common option with customers. Use your own graphic design software to create your own design. If you aren't sure if your design is high enough quality for us to use send it anyway (by email) and we'll see if we can use it. We have templates and full design tips to help you. OPTION 2: SEND US YOUR EXISTING LOGO OR DESIGN
Please email us a large version of your logo. Try to send it either as a jpg, png, gif, pdf or bmp, or flattened psd image file if possible (under 1MB in size). If your logo is not one of these file types please email us what you have and we'll see if we can use it. We will resize your image to best fit our badges for free. Please remember to let us know which size badges you would like.
The background colour of your existing logo will be the background colour we use for the badges. If you need a different colour background please try to send us a transparent image or you can design your own badge (above).
If you understand colour profiles try to send your logo in our preferred RGB format for best results. If you send a CMYK file this will be converted. If you don't know what colour format your image is don't worry - just email us what you've got!
We can always shrink a large logo down to the correct size but we can't increase the size of your image without it losing quality. Your logo will be smaller than it looks on your screen when it is printed, so please keep this in mind. Please send us a quick email if you are unsure and we will be happy to help! When we have checked your image works (i.e. the size and quality is high enough to use) we'll send you a quick email with a positioning mock-up and let you know you can pay for your order via our 'Badge Prices' page.
OPTION 3: IF YOU'D LIKE AN IMAGE AND/OR TEXT ON BADGES, BUT YOU HAVE NO DESIGN SKILLS WE CAN PROBABLY HELP.
We can usually place your provided image and/or text on our badges for no extra charge. If you want the text to curve around the badge we can also usually help. Try not to squeeze too much information on to the smaller 25mm badges.
Email us what you have and we'll see if we can help. You can even click here for (easy to understand) details of how to provide the information we need in the correct format and size. If you have design skills we suggest you use our standard method and design your own badges using Option 1 above but we'll always try to help if you require something simple (and we are able to).
OPTION 4: THE SIMPLE OPTION FOR 'TEXT ONLY' BADGES
Tell us by email what text you want on your 25mm or 38mm badges. Try to let us know the basic font name, the font colour and the basic background colour you would like (eg "hello mum" in Verdana font, blue text on a white background). It helps us if you give us a list of fonts as we may not have your first choice on file.
We will best size the text to fit our badges. The text may need to be spread over several lines. Please keep in mind our 25mm badges are roughly the diameter of a 10p piece. If you need a lot of text or would like large text on your badges we advise you to choose our 38mm badges. The more words the smaller your text will be! If you need the text to curve around the edge of the front face of the badges we can usually do this for you (if you let us know from the start).
After you've emailed your requirements please wait for us to email you a quick example of the approximate positioning of the text before paying via our Badge Prices page. Please carefully check this positioning mockup is formatted as you intended before paying. There is no extra charge for this 'text only' option (for one or two different designs).
OPTION 5: LET US TRY TO FIND A SUITABLE IMAGE FOR YOU FROM STOCK CLIPART
If you have an idea what you would like we have access to a wide range of stock clip-art style images. We do not illustrate images 'from scratch' for you or create complex designs but can often find a simple image for you such as (for example) a birthday cake, frog, heart, etc for no extra charge. Please note that we will not source images that infringe anyones intellectual property rights. Send us a quick email to get started.
If you want us to combine the image we have sourced with some extra text (above / below or around the image) then there is no extra charge, but we'll require payment before we start completing your design. Email your requirements to get started.
